Julio Díaz signs for Sevilla FC from Atlético Madrid

Sevilla FC have completed the signing of left‑back Julio Díaz from Atlético Madrid. The clubs agreed on a €1.5 million payment for 50 % of the player's rights, with an option for Atlético to repurchase for €2 million after two seasons. Díaz, 21, signed a contract running until 2031, becoming the fourth reinforcement for Luis García Plaza’s side ahead of the 2026‑27 campaign.

The transfer was finalised after a brief negotiation with Levante fell through. Díaz arrived in Seville, underwent a medical examination and is expected to compete for the left‑back position alongside Gabriel Suazo and the youngster Oso. He previously made four LaLiga appearances for Atlético, providing an assist in a 2‑1 win over Real Oviedo, and has represented Spain at youth international level, winning the under‑19 European Championship in 2024.

Sevilla’s recruitment drive also includes recent signings of Juan Iglesias, Arouna Sangante and Jon Guridi, reflecting a broader strategy to reinforce the squad after a season without major acquisitions.
