Julio Iglesias celebrates 83rd birthday

Spanish singer Julio Iglesias is celebrating his 83rd birthday on September 23. The artist, who has sold over 300 million records and is recognized by Guinness World Records, is currently spending time with his family in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

His children, including Chabeli, Julio Jr., Victoria, and Cristina, have shared tributes on social media. The celebrations come after a period of legal scrutiny; earlier this year, allegations of sexual assault and labor exploitation made by two former employees were reported, though the singer denied the claims and the cases were ultimately archived.

The milestone also brings reflections on his storied career, which transitioned from a promising football career at Real Madrid—cut short by a 1963 traffic accident—to international music stardom. His personal history has also been highlighted, including his past relationship with Mexican television figure Talina Fernández.
