Julio Iglesias sues Yolanda Díaz for violation of honor rights

A Spanish judge has admitted for processing a lawsuit filed by singer Julio Iglesias against Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda Díaz. The singer alleges violations of his right to honor, personal and family privacy, and his own image.

Iglesias is seeking 50,000 euros in compensation following statements made by Díaz on social media and during a television program. The lawsuit claims these remarks constitute accusations of sexual abuse, labor exploitation, and systematic violations of fundamental rights. Díaz has twenty business days to respond to the legal filing, and the Public Prosecutor's Office will intervene in the proceedings.

In a related legal matter, the news outlet eldiario.es and its founder, Ignacio Escolar, have been implicated in a separate investigation regarding alleged libel and slander against Iglesias. A judge has opened inquiries into the publication and its journalists, with investigations scheduled to determine if the published information constitutes a criminal offense.
