Julio Salinas criticizes failed Julian Alvarez transfer to Barcelona

Former Barcelona striker Julio Salinas has expressed satisfaction that the potential transfer of Julian Alvarez to FC Barcelona did not materialize. Salinas criticized the reported €130 million valuation for the Argentine player, suggesting it was an excessive amount and that the club needs to improve its efficiency in buying and selling players.

Salinas proposed an alternative strategy, stating that if he were in a position at Atletico Madrid, he would have attempted to secure a deal involving Ferran Torres plus €80 million instead.

Additionally, Salinas praised Raphinha’s importance to the Barcelona squad, noting that the Brazilian's high-intensity pressing sets the tempo for teammates like Lamine Yamal. He also expressed support for Fabian Ruiz in the Ballon d'Or conversation, citing his indispensable role and trophy success.
