Julio Vera Benítez accused of death threats in Yasy Cañy

A resident of Yasy Cañy, Canindeyú, has filed a formal complaint against Julio Vera Benítez, a Colorado Party candidate for mayor, alleging death threats.

Javier González Benítez reported that the threats occurred via a WhatsApp call on Friday, September 18. According to family members, the call was on speakerphone, and several people allegedly heard Vera Benítez issue a death threat in Guaraní. The family claims the incident followed a meeting between some of their members and representatives from a different political sector.

Javier González Benítez stated he has been threatened on three separate occasions and has publicly held Vera Benítez responsible for the safety of himself and his family. The complaint has been submitted to the relevant authorities, and audio recordings of the conversation are expected to be provided to investigators.
