Julius Baer appoints Roy Zaatar as Group Head for Middle East and Africa

Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd. has appointed Roy Zaatar as Managing Director Senior Advisor and Group Head for the Middle East and Africa region. Based in Dubai, Zaatar joined the leadership team on September 16, 2026, and will lead a group of relationship managers reporting to Regis Burger, the Head of Middle East & Africa.

Zaatar brings nearly twenty years of experience to the role, including an eleven-year tenure at Barclays within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), where he served as Team Leader and Market Head for Arab Diaspora & Global India. He previously held positions at Credit Agricole (Suisse) SA. His appointment is intended to support the firm’s regional expansion and wealth management capabilities for high-net-worth clients.
