Julius Neequaye Kotey rules out 2028 parliamentary bid

Julius Neequaye Kotey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), has dismissed speculation that he intends to challenge incumbent Member of Parliament Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings for the Klottey Korle seat in the 2028 elections.

Mr. Kotey, a long-standing member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), noted that while he possesses the legal right to contest the constituency in the future, he has no plans to do so in 2028. He advised Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings to ‘relax’ regarding his political ambitions.

Reflecting on his political history, Mr. Kotey detailed his decades of service within the NDC, including roles as a branch secretary, polling agent, and communications officer. He currently serves as the constituency vice-chairman and emphasized his deep roots as an indigene of Osu within the Klottey Korle constituency.
