Julius Offorzor joins Romanian side ACS Minerul Lupeni

Nigerian central midfielder Julius Offorzor, 22, completed a free transfer from Maltese club FC Swieqi United to Romanian third‑division side ACS Minerul Lupeni on 3 August 2026. The move marks his first departure from Malta after a year in the Gozo League, where he made ten appearances and scored once.

Offorzor, a product of the Ighalo Academy founded by former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo, previously played for Ighalo FA, Oratory Youths and FC Swieqi United. His signing adds a Nigerian player to Minerul Lupeni’s squad as the club seeks promotion following a 0‑3 semifinal loss in the previous season’s promotion playoffs. Ighalo praised the transfer on social media, highlighting the academy’s role in sending talent to Europe.

The transfer was completed without a fee and no contract length was disclosed.
