Julius Schüle Druckguss files for insolvency in Germany

Julius Schüle Druckguss GmbH, a long-standing automotive supplier based in Schwäbisch Gmünd, has filed for insolvency under self-administration. The local court in Aalen ordered a protective shield proceeding on September 18.

The company, which has produced aluminum die-cast parts since 1951, employs approximately 680 people across three locations. The insolvency filing specifically impacts 152 employees at the main headquarters in the Ostalb region. While the German operations face restructuring, subsidiaries in Poland and Slovakia are reportedly unaffected.

Managing Director Michael Eidecker expressed regret over the filing but remains confident that the ongoing restructuring process can be successfully completed to ensure future competitiveness. The company reported a turnover of approximately 110.9 million euros in the 2025 fiscal year. Under the self-administration model, the management remains in office to lead the restructuring, overseen by a court-appointed monitor to protect creditor interests.
