Julpand Amornvivat defends Social Security Board election integrity
Thai Labour Minister Julpand Amornvivat has addressed online criticism regarding the recent Social Security Board election, dismissing claims that the process should be declared void due to political interference.
Amornvivat noted that voter turnout increased significantly, by approximately 500–600%, which he described as a positive sign. He stated that the Social Security Office is currently following standard procedures to compile vote counts and believes that any minor errors would not be sufficient to overturn the results.
Regarding allegations of political involvement, the Minister clarified that while candidates are prohibited from holding political executive positions or being party administrators, being a mere party member or having politicians campaign for voter turnout is not a violation of regulations. He added that similarities in labor policies between candidates and political parties are natural, as they stem from shared labor-focused ideologies.
