July 2026 Buck Moon, Venus and Meteor Showers Highlight Night Sky

Astronomy guides note that bright Venus will be visible in the western sky after sunset throughout July 2026, and the full Buck Moon peaks on July 29. The Southern Delta Aquariids and α‑Capricornids meteor showers are expected around July 30‑31, with optimal viewing after midnight from dark locations.

In June, the Strawberry Moon rose low across the Northern Hemisphere, producing striking images from locations such as New York City, the Port of Molfetta in Italy, San Francisco Bay, and several sites in China and Turkey. Photographers highlighted the moon’s alignment with landmarks like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.
