Jumapam implements new payment deadline calendar in Mazatlán

Jumapam, the water and drainage operator in Mazatlán, is implementing a new strategy to encourage timely bill payments. Starting this September, the agency will publish a daily calendar of expiration dates via social media to inform users of their specific deadlines.

Commercial Manager Óscar Calzadillas Pérez stated that the initiative responds to citizen feedback. He noted that many residents mistakenly believe they have the entire month to pay, leading to late fees and delinquency status in the system. By providing individualized information for specific sectors, neighborhoods, and condominiums, the agency aims to help families plan their household expenses and avoid fines or service limitations.

Jumapam emphasized that maintaining a responsible user base is essential for the organization's financial solvency. These funds are required for daily operations, including the maintenance of water treatment plants, repairing leaks, and rehabilitating sewage networks.
