Jumilla hosts fifth Matavendimia wine and enotourism fair
The fifth edition of Matavendimia, a wine and enotourism fair organized by the DOP Jumilla Regulatory Council, will take place on October 24 and 25 in Jumilla, Spain. Held at the Paseo del Poeta Lorenzo Guardiola, the event features 20 local wineries offering direct sales to the public.
The program includes various tastings, workshops, and cultural activities. Notable sessions include a tasting titled ‘Jumilla, la fuerza de la Monastrell’ led by Almudena Alberca, the first woman in Spain to hold the Master of Wine title. Other scheduled activities involve food pairings and sensory workshops.
Organizers have opened reservations for workshops and the ‘Bus del Vino’, which provides transport from Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, and Caravaca. Admission to the fair is free, though commemorative glasses are available for purchase for 3 euros.
