Jumma Khan's family members forcibly disappeared in Balochistan

On July 30, personnel of Pakistan's Frontier Corps (FC) at the Lakhpas FC Checkpost in Mastung district stopped a civilian van traveling from Kalat to Quetta. The FC removed and detained three women linked to Balochistan National Party (BNP) leader Jumma Khan: his wife Rafia Bibi, his daughter Tania (a school teacher in Quetta), and his niece Javeria (a seventh‑grade student). They were taken to an undisclosed location and their whereabouts remain unknown.

The Baloch National Movement's human‑rights department, Paank, condemned the incident as intimidation and collective punishment, urging Pakistani authorities to disclose the women's fate, allow family and legal access, release them if held unlawfully, and launch an independent, impartial investigation in line with international human‑rights obligations. Paank also raised concerns over separate alleged enforced disappearances of Allah Bakhsh, a 28‑year‑old teacher from Karachi, and Zubair Ahmed, a 23‑year‑old chemistry graduate from Hub Chowki, attributing those cases to Rangers and Military Intelligence respectively.
