Jun Miura to release new book ‘Fanta-ji no Mezame’

Illustrator and essayist Jun Miura is set to release a new book titled ‘Fanta-ji no Mezame’ (The Awakening of Fanta-ji) through Bungeishunju on November 5, 2026.

Building on the themes of his previous hit ‘Out-ro no Susume’, the new work introduces the concept of ‘Fanta-ji’—a way of living that transforms daily life into entertainment to embrace aging. The book features Miura’s personal reflections on various interests, including a journey to find mermaid statues across Japan, which is documented through his ‘Fanta-ji Art’ illustrations.

To celebrate the release, a promotional event including a media briefing and a ‘high-touch and book handover’ session will be held at the Kinokuniya Bookstore Shinjuku Main Store on November 3, 2026.
