JUNAEB advances TIC Scholarship computer distribution in Chile
The Chilean National Student Assistance and Scholarship Service (JUNAEB) has made significant progress in distributing the 2026 TIC Scholarship, providing computers and internet access to students in various regions.
In the Los Ríos Region, the distribution process has concluded with the delivery of 2,542 computers. The final phase included 300 scholarships in Panguipulli and 74 in Lanco. The equipment, which includes one year of free internet, was primarily allocated to public education students, with specific provisions for students with special educational needs.
In the Antofagasta Region, the program has reached an 87% completion rate, with 4,538 computers distributed to seventh-grade students. Despite recent weather events, the rollout has extended to areas such as Mejillones, Antofagasta, San Pedro de Atacama, and Calama. The devices feature Intel N150 processors, 128 GB solid-state drives, and access to educational software and artificial intelligence tools.
