June 2026 Inflation Slows in the Netherlands and Northern Cyprus

In June 2026 the Netherlands reported that its annual consumer‑price inflation fell to 2.9%, down from 3.5% in May and matching market expectations. The slowdown was attributed mainly to lower fuel prices, with transport‑related price growth easing from 9.9% to 6.9%. The harmonised HICP also dropped to 2.5%.

Northern Cyprus announced a June inflation rate of 2.29% year‑on‑year, while the twelve‑month figure reached 38.46% and the six‑month cumulative rate was 16.95%. Local officials argued that the full six‑month increase should be passed on to public‑sector salaries, retirees and minimum‑wage workers, warning that delayed or staggered wage adjustments would provoke public backlash. The report also referenced Turkey’s 0.99% June inflation rate as a regional comparison.
