Jung-gu District launches Korea's first integrated industrial safety system

Jung-gu District in Seoul has launched ‘Naepyeon Anjeon’, South Korea’s first integrated management system for serious disasters and industrial safety. The system centralizes tasks related to the Serious Disaster Punishment Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act, allowing officials to manage legal obligations, risk assessments, and inspection histories in one location.

The platform features seven main menus, including legal searches, checklists for mandatory compliance, risk assessment databases, and locations of workplaces and rest facilities. By digitizing inspection logs and meeting minutes, the system aims to improve work continuity, especially during personnel transfers, and reduce the administrative burden of searching through fragmented electronic documents.

Notably, the system was developed internally by Jung-gu’s safety managers and disaster officials using AI, in collaboration with the Digital Policy Division. This proactive approach saved an estimated 430 million KRW in development costs. Following a pilot program with four departments this month, the district plans to expand the system to all departments next year.
