Jung Ho-yeon undergoes intensive training for film ‘Hope: The Last Battle’

South Korean actress Jung Ho-yeon, known for ‘Squid Game’, has undergone intensive physical training for her leading role in the film ‘Hope: The Last Battle’. To portray a police officer with high physical capability, Jung gained 4 kilograms of weight, over 90% of which was muscle, through six months of aerobic and weight training.

In preparation for the film's driving sequences, Jung obtained a South Korean Class 1 manual driver's license and trained with racing experts to master drifting techniques. She performed her own driving stunts in the film alongside co-star Hwang Jung-min without the use of a stunt double. Jung noted that while the technical demands and safety briefings initially caused anxiety, encouragement from her co-stars, including Hwang Jung-min and Alicia Vikander, helped her overcome the fear of failure and embrace the challenges of the role.

The film, which features an international cast including Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, is set in a remote town facing mysterious threats and isolation. It is scheduled for release in Taiwan on September 4.
