Jung Jeom-sik alleges Kim Hyun-ji controls government personnel

Jung Jeom-sik, floor leader of the People Power Party, has raised allegations regarding the influence of Kim Hyun-ji, the Chief of the First Presidential Secretariat, over government personnel appointments.

Jung cited several incidents to support his claims, including a perceived unnatural personnel move intended to avoid parliamentary audit attendance and text messages suggesting that Kim serves as a powerful channel for influencing appointments to private associations. He further noted a recent comment by a former Democratic Party spokesperson who allegedly identified Kim as the primary personnel line within the Blue House.

Jung criticized the current administration's personnel verification system as broken, arguing that instead of utilizing a broad pool of talent, the government relies on the political judgment of a small circle of close associates, including President Lee Jae-myung and Kim Hyun-ji.
