Junge Union NRW seeks drone defense cooperation with Ukraine

The Junge Union (JU) Nordrhein-Westfalen is calling for closer cooperation between German security agencies and Ukraine to improve drone defense capabilities for critical infrastructure. The CDU youth organization proposed expanding the partnership between North Rhine-Westphalia and the Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrowsk to include permanent collaboration between police, security, and disaster relief agencies.

JU NRW chairman Kevin Gniosdorz stated that Ukraine possesses unparalleled expertise in maintaining critical infrastructure under fire and defending against massive drone attacks. The proposal includes regular internships, joint training sessions, and structured exchanges focusing on drone detection, infrastructure protection, and public warning systems. European Minister Nathanael Liminski supported the initiative, noting that Ukraine's real-time experience with networked systems and modular technology provides essential lessons for modern defense.
