Jungheung Group donates 10 billion won to Honam semiconductor project

Jungheung Group has pledged 10 billion won to support the success of the Honam semiconductor mega-project and the settlement of local talent. Under a memorandum of understanding signed with the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, the group will donate 2 billion won annually over a five-year period from 2027 to 2031.

The funds are designated for attracting semiconductor companies, cultivating professional manpower, and building research infrastructure. Additionally, the donation will support scholarship programs for university students and young researchers in strategic high-tech sectors, as well as programs to enhance employment capabilities linked to local industries.

The Honam semiconductor mega-project aims to establish an AI-based advanced semiconductor specialized complex and research hubs. This large-scale initiative seeks to transform the Honam region into a national high-tech industrial outpost, potentially creating hundreds of thousands of jobs through the integration of AI data centers and renewable energy infrastructure.
