Jungnang-gu wins top prize at Dementia Partner Activity Contest

Jungnang-gu has received the Grand Prize in the group category at the ‘2026 Excellent Dementia Partner Activity Contest’ hosted by the Central Dementia Center. The award, which includes the Minister of Health and Welfare Prize, recognizes the district's efforts to support dementia patients and their families.

Central to this achievement is the ‘Happy Brain’ professional dementia volunteer group, operated by the Jungnang-gu Dementia Care Center since 2012. The group currently consists of 62 members who have contributed a total of 1,505 volunteer hours over the past two years. Their work includes supporting dementia-related events, assisting with screening examinations, providing cognitive activity support for patients, and conducting awareness campaigns.

In addition to volunteer efforts, the Jungnang-gu Dementia Care Center operates mobile early detection screening services. Based on results, the center provides various support services, including treatment cost assistance, wandering identification tags, wandering detection devices, and fingerprint registration to prevent missing person incidents.
