Junichi Okada hosts new survival game show THE FLOOR

The new survival game show THE FLOOR, hosted by actor Junichi Okada, premiered on Nippon TV. The program features 32 contestants from various fields, including idols, athletes, comedians, and astronauts, competing for a 5 million yen grand prize.

Set on a massive 32-square LED floor, contestants engage in one-on-one duels where they must identify images related to their chosen specialty. Winners expand their territory by claiming the opponent's square, while losers are immediately eliminated. The show introduces mechanics such as the “Time Boost,” earned after three consecutive wins, and a new “Chapter Bonus.”

Notable participants include Snow Man's Ryohei Abe, who competed in an Olympic sports category against announcer Shinichi Hatori, and former Olympic figure skaters Narumi Takahashi and Kanako Murakami, who faced off in an animal-themed duel.
