Junior Boys announce new album The Gore

Canadian electronic pop duo Junior Boys, consisting of Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus, have announced their seventh studio album, titled The Gore. Scheduled for release on February 12, 2027, via City Slang, the project serves as a companion to their 2022 album, Waiting Game.

Greenspan described the new work as a noisier and messier record, shaped by personal grief following the deaths of his father and a close childhood friend. The album draws sonic inspiration from horror, science fiction, and experimental film, utilizing analog recording techniques such as old tape loops to achieve specific effects.

The announcement includes the release of the lead single, Underneath The Moon. To support the launch, the duo will host special events in Brooklyn, Seattle, and Toronto, featuring screenings of Michael Snow’s experimental film Wavelength, full album playbacks, and Q&A sessions.
