Junior figure skaters from Canada and U.S. compete in ISU Grand Prix

Junior figure skaters from Canada and the United States are competing in the ISU Junior Grand Prix series.

In Latvia, eleven Canadian junior athletes are participating in the second stop of the series from August 27-29. The Canadian delegation includes William Chan in the men’s event, three pairs teams including 2026 NextGen champions Miroslava Oreshkin and Vladmir Furman, and two ice dance teams, Victoria and Andrei Carandiuc along with Laurence Brière and Earl Jesse Celestino.

At the series opener in Xi'An, China, the U.S. Junior National Team sent 13 skaters. The U.S. team was led by pairs Sofia Jarmoc and Luke Witkowski, who finished fourth, and ice dancers Annelise Stapert and Maxim Korotcove, who also secured a fourth-place finish. Other U.S. participants included pairs Alena Kerr and Sam Herbert, Baylen Taich and Nikolai Apter, and ice dancers Jane Calhoun and Mark Zheltyshev.
