Junior hockey leagues release 2026-2027 season schedules

The Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) has released its 2026-2027 schedule. The exhibition season begins on August 21, followed by the regular season starting September 4. Each team will play 48 games, consisting of 24 home and 24 road contests. The playoffs will follow a format where the top four teams from the North and South Divisions compete in best-of-seven series.

Due to ongoing renovations at the Archie Browning Arena in Esquimalt, the Victoria Cougars will play several games at alternative venues, including the Save On Foods Memorial Center and SeaParc Arena. Additionally, the Nanaimo Buccaneers have moved their regular home games from Thursday to Friday nights.

In the Western International Junior Hockey League (WIJHL), the Enderby Icemen have announced their inaugural season schedule. The 10-team league will see each team play 44 games. The Icemen are scheduled to begin their season with a home-and-home series against the Sicamous Eagles in mid-September, rekindling a regional rivalry. Their schedule also includes matchups against the Spokane Braves and other expansion teams like the Oliver Outlaws.
