Junior Lima reveals daughter's nephrotic syndrome diagnosis

Brazilian singer Junior Lima and his wife, Monica Benini, have shared that their daughter, Lara, has been diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome. The condition is a rare renal disorder where the kidneys fail to filter proteins correctly, leading to excessive protein loss through urine.

According to the parents, Lara is currently undergoing medical treatment and is showing positive progress. The condition can cause significant swelling (edema) around the eyes and throughout the body due to low protein concentrations in the blood. Potential complications of the syndrome include an increased risk of infections, thrombosis, and osteomalacia.
