Junji Ito reveals unfinished horror manga concept

Horror manga creator Junji Ito recently shared details regarding an unfinished story that he has been unable to complete as a manga. During a video with Viz Media featuring manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, Ito described a concept set in a radio station where a sinister live broadcast between two presenters escalates into a massive public disaster.

Although Ito had previously developed storyboards for the tale, he explained that he never fully realized the project because the timing did not feel right. Takahashi encouraged him to revisit the work, but Ito noted that completing it would require rebuilding the story and storyboards from the ground up to ensure it meets his standards.
