JUNON (BE:FIRST) covers Koji Tamaki for ‘RYUJI Ryuji’ film trailer

A special trailer has been released for the upcoming film ‘RYUJI Ryuji’, starring Yuya Yagira. The trailer features a cover of Koji Tamaki’s 1996 hit song ‘Melody’, performed by JUNON of the group BE:FIRST.

In the film, JUNON plays the role of Hiroshi, a subordinate to the protagonist Ryuji. JUNON expressed that while he does not typically perform ballads of this nature, he aimed to respect the original work while incorporating the emotions gained from filming the movie.

The film, directed by Nobuo Mizuta, is a modern reimagining of the 1983 film ‘Ryuji’ by Masatsugu Kaneko. It is scheduled for nationwide release in Japan on October 30, 2026. Promotional items, including character cards and limited-edition bromide sets at FamilyMart, are also being released to coincide with the film's promotion.
