Junta Central Electoral launches ID renewal drive in Santo Domingo’s Cristo Rey

The Junta Central Electoral (JCE) announced a three‑day citizen‑identification operation in the Cristo Rey neighborhood of Santo Domingo. The service runs from Friday, July 31, through Sunday, August 2, and will install two mobile units: one at Club Los Cachorros on Avenida Ortega y Gasset, and another at the parish hall of Iglesia Cristo Rey on Calle Respaldo C41.

The drive offers free renewal of the new national identity and electoral card to all residents, regardless of birth‑month. Staff from the Cedulación and Registro Civil departments will also assist with special documentation requests and civil‑registry procedures, aiming to bring official services to densely populated areas of the Distrito Nacional.
