Junta de Andalucía invests 1.9 million euros in La Olivilla lynx center
The Junta de Andalucía has announced an investment of approximately 1.9 million euros, funded by European FEDER funds, to expand and modernize the La Olivilla Iberian Lynx Breeding Center in Jaén.
The project includes upgrading water supply infrastructure and video surveillance systems, as well as expanding facilities specifically for the Iberian lynx. Additionally, over 867,000 euros will be allocated to construct new facilities for the recovery and potential breeding of the wildcat. These improvements aim to increase the center's capacity to host specimens from the wild before their translocation or reintroduction, strengthening regional and international conservation strategies.
