Iberia and Iberia Express have signed an indefinite agreement with the Sepla pilots' union to establish a new relationship framework. This deal provides long-term stability for the IAG group and aims to strengthen the Madrid aviation hub. The agreement includes the addition of eight aircraft between 2028 and 2030, which will create new employment opportunities for 80 pilots and 160 cabin crew members.
In other labor developments in Spain, the Generalitat Valenciana has reached a 15.4 million euro agreement with forest firefighter unions to increase salaries by up to 458 euros per month and create 64 new positions. Additionally, the Junta de Andalucía has reached a preliminary agreement with unions to improve working conditions for 22,000 employees, including salary increases, teleworking options, and better leave policies. In Córdoba, a new metal industry collective agreement will increase salaries by nearly 11% over three years for approximately 25,000 workers.
Separately, Iberia has renewed its three-year strategic alliance with Disney Destinations, maintaining its status as the preferred airline for Spanish travelers heading to Disney destinations, including Disneyland Paris and Orlando.
