Junta de Andalucía resumes remote work talks with unions

The Junta de Andalucía and public service unions are set to resume negotiations next week regarding remote work arrangements for civil servants. The administration has called for a meeting to address the deadlock on teleworking, as well as issues concerning open and permanent job competitions.

While a circular approved in June established a transitional framework—limiting remote work to 20% of the work week (generally one day per week)—unions have deemed these measures insufficient. A key point of contention remains the administration's requirement to implement performance evaluations as a prerequisite for remote work, a condition unions argue should be independent of an employee's physical work location.

The regional government has acknowledged that implementing teleworking for public employees is a complex process but expressed confidence in reaching a resolution to align Andalusia with other Spanish communities.
