Juntos Pelo Povo denounces lack of investment in São Gonçalo

The political party Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) has denounced a lack of public investment in the parish of São Gonçalo following a working visit to the area. During the visit, officials identified several critical issues affecting the local population.

One major concern is the state of the cliff overlooking Rua Conde Carvalhal, which JPP describes as a critical zone requiring urgent consolidation to ensure road and pedestrian safety. The party has called for an immediate assessment by competent authorities to prevent accidents.

Additionally, the party highlighted delays in local housing projects. The third phase of the São Gonçalo Housing Complex, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) to build 27 apartments, has faced multiple delays. Originally expected to be completed in 2024, the project remains unfinished despite starting in 2022. JPP criticized the lack of adherence to timelines announced by the PSD/CDS coalition.

Finally, mobility issues were raised, specifically the lack of adequate public transportation in an aging parish with challenging geography, which limits the movement of residents without private vehicles.
