Junts candidate Miriam Nogueras targets influence in Madrid

Miriam Nogueras, the Junts candidate for the general elections in Barcelona, has outlined a political strategy focused on defending Catalan interests within the Spanish Congress. Speaking in Barcelona, Nogueras emphasized that the party aims to use its parliamentary strength to influence political decisions in Madrid and act as a weight that can condition the national agenda.

Nogueras positioned Junts as a distinct alternative to the existing Spanish political blocs, describing the party as ‘the only party of strictly Catalan obedience’ participating in the elections. She characterized the party’s stance as ‘the middle ground,’ claiming that Junts avoids the extreme ideological confrontations seen in other formations.

Furthermore, Nogueras criticized other political actors for what she termed ‘servility’ toward Madrid, asserting that Junts’s priority is to ensure the voice of Catalan citizens is heard and to prevent the interests of the region from being sidelined by state-wide ideological dynamics.
