Junts de Girona agrees to support 2027 fiscal ordinances

The political formation Junts de Girona has reached an agreement with the municipal government, composed of Guanyem and ERC, to allow the approval of fiscal ordinances for 2027. As part of this agreement, Junts will abstain from the upcoming vote on October 27.

A key component of the deal is a reduction in the waste tax. The proposal includes a decrease of up to 3.6% for taxpayers who meet specific criteria regarding the regular use of service containers, requiring a minimum of 24 uses per semester.

Junts stated that while their abstention is not a ‘blank check’, the decision aims to ensure city stability and avoid political blockages. The party emphasized that municipal fiscal policy should prioritize avoiding tax increases to prevent further economic pressure on families, freelancers, and businesses.
