Junts per Catalunya threatens to withhold votes over Ceuta migration redistribution

Junts per Catalunya has issued a political ultimatum to the government of Pedro Sánchez, conditioning its parliamentary support on migration issues. The party, represented in Congress by spokesperson Miriam Nogueras, has stated it will not vote for any government projects if Catalonia is required to participate in the redistribution of unaccompanied minors arriving in Ceuta.

The demand follows a security crisis in Ceuta involving a large influx of migrants from Morocco. Junts is seeking to regain control over immigration competencies, a move seen by critics as an attempt to counter the rise of radical parties like Aliança Catalana. The party's stance places significant pressure on the central government's ability to pass legislation in a fragmented Congress where Junts holds seven seats.
