Juozo Miltinio Drama Theatre cancels Macbeth production

The Juozo Miltinio Drama Theatre in Panevėžys has cancelled its production of ‘Macbeth’ following a failure to reach an agreement with lead actor Tadas Gryn. Lithuanian Culture Minister Lukas Alsys met with theatre management to discuss the situation, noting that the leadership admitted to communication errors and a delay in initiating negotiations.

Theatre director Antanas Venckus confirmed that negotiations regarding financial matters are currently ongoing. While the production was originally scheduled to run from August 9 to September 10, management is making efforts to resolve the dispute. The Minister expressed hope that an agreement will be reached and indicated that the planned repertoire for the upcoming September season remains on track.
