Standard Liège secures first league win via Drammeh brace

Standard Liège secured their first victory of the Jupiler Pro League season with a 2-0 win over RAAL La Louvière at Sclessin. The match was decided by substitute Salieu Drammeh, who scored both goals to earn the man-of-the-match award.

Standard coach Vincent Euvrard praised the decisive impact of his substitutions, noting that the team played more directly after the break. Despite the win, La Louvière manager Edward Still felt his side deserved a point, stating that they had put Standard under pressure for much of the match before the late goals.

In other Belgian football news, Zulte Waregem's coach Beale had a disciplinary sentence reduced to a one-match suspension following an incident involving a referee. Additionally, Standard Liège announced a renewed social commitment through the Prix Ardent initiative, using sport as a lever for social projects.
