Jupiter token drops 9% despite strong security study on Solana

The Jupiter (JUP) token has experienced a price decline of approximately 9%, falling to around $0.337. This retreat follows a significant recent rally where the token rose from roughly $0.22 to nearly $0.37.

Despite the price drop, a recent three-year academic study highlighted Jupiter's strong performance regarding security on the Solana network. The study focused on sandwich attacks—a method where bots exploit incoming trades to manipulate prices. Jupiter’s Ultra trading service demonstrated higher resistance to these attacks compared to several competing decentralized applications (dApps) on Solana, such as Axiom, Photon, BullX, and GMGM.

Analysts suggest the price decline may be driven by profit-taking following the token's 69% surge, rather than technical failures. The divergence between the protocol's positive security findings and its market performance underscores how broader market sentiment and liquidity often outweigh technical fundamentals in the short term.
