Jura lakes and Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes sites flagged for safe summer swimming

The Jura department highlights a range of summer cooling spots, from the Olympic‑size Aquaparc Isis in Dole to natural lakes such as Vouglans, Chalain, Rousses, Chour and secluded spots like the Dérochoir pool and local waterfalls including the cascade du Hérisson and cascade des Tufs.

In the Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes region, health authorities report that 287 declared bathing sites were tested in 2025, with more than 99 % complying with bacterial standards (E. coli and enterococci). Fifteen locations were classified as having insufficient water quality and could be closed until remedial actions are taken.
