Jurema e a Criação do Mundo expands tour in Bonito

The theatrical production ‘Jurema e a Criação do Mundo’ is expanding its tour in Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, offering free performances to new audiences. Following initial shows for students and at Praça da Liberdade, the production is scheduled to visit the Águas do Miranda District and Praça da Marambaia.

Created by actress and clown Sorrayla Acosta Parra, the show blends theater, clowning, music, and storytelling. It follows the journey of the character Jurema as she explores various narratives regarding the origin of the universe, bridging the scientific Big Bang theory with the cosmovisions of the Guarani Mbya and Desana indigenous peoples. The project resulted from two years of research aimed at honoring ancestral knowledge and diverse ways of perceiving nature and humanity.
