Juárez Customs ranks as Mexico's second most active trade hub

The Juárez Customs office has become the second most active customs office in Mexico for foreign trade operations, according to data from the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM). During the second half of 2026, the office recorded 469,000 import and export movements.

Nuevo Laredo remains the most active with 1,447,500 operations. Other high-ranking locations include Tijuana with 461,500 movements, Reynosa with 309,900, and the port of Manzanillo with 282,500.

Marcelo Vázquez Tovar, the Chihuahua delegate for the National Association of Importers and Exporters of the Mexican Republic (Anierm), noted that Juárez also leads the country in production for export due to its maquiladora industry, generating more than 10% of Mexico's total exports. Annual tax collection in Juárez is approaching 60 billion pesos. Business representatives are calling for increased federal investment in border infrastructure and the remodeling of the Jerónimo-Santa Teresa international crossing to maintain regional competitiveness.
