Juárez prepares 16 de Septiembre Avenue for Juangabrielísimo festival

Authorities in Juárez are preparing for the Juárez Juangabrielísimo festival, an annual celebration honoring singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. To facilitate the event, the municipal General Directorate of Public Services is conducting maintenance, cleaning, and infrastructure improvements along 16 de Septiembre Avenue and near the Juan Gabriel Museum.

Key preparations include the installation of over 100 trash receptacles and the reinforcement of street lighting with LED and lantern-style fixtures. These measures aim to ensure safety and cleanliness during the festival's scheduled activities, such as the traditional 'callejoneada' and various recreational and competitive races.

Traffic disruptions are expected this weekend. 16 de Septiembre Avenue will be closed between Brasil and Uruguay streets from 16:00 to 23:00. Additionally, intermittent closures will occur during the 'Callejoneada' on Saturday evening, and a security operation will be in place for a pedestrian race starting Sunday morning. Public transport, including the Juárez Bus, will follow diverted routes to accommodate these changes.
