Juri Ardiantoro enters race for PBNU Secretary General

Following the 35th Muktamar of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) held at the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Tambakberas, Jombang, discussions regarding the new leadership structure of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) have emerged.

Juri Ardiantoro has been identified as a potential candidate for the strategic position of Secretary General (Sekjen) of PBNU. Ardiantoro currently serves as the Deputy Minister of State Secretariat (Wamensesneg) of Indonesia and is a former Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU RI). He also possesses a background in organizations such as Pergerakan Mahasiswa Islam Indonesia (PMII) and Gerakan Pemuda Ansor.

Observers suggest that Ardiantoro’s dual experience in both religious-social organizations and the government could serve as a strategic asset. His potential appointment is viewed as a way to strengthen institutional communication and coordination between PBNU and the Indonesian government.
