Jurist Juan Gil Lazala honored in Cotuí following death

Judicial authorities, lawyers, and family members gathered in Cotuí to hold funeral services for prominent jurist Juan Gil Lazala. Lazala passed away on a Saturday morning following a cardiac arrest after undergoing a catheterization procedure at a private medical center in San Francisco de Macorís.

Lazala had a career spanning over 30 years within the Dominican Republic's justice system. He served as a prosecutor for the Sánchez Ramírez Judicial District and later held positions within the prosecution and the Court of Appeals for the Duarte province.

During the ceremony at the Inmaculada Concepción Church, Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso praised his professional and human legacy, describing him as an exemplary public servant and a responsible official within the justice system.
