Jurist Pedro Serrano disputes criminal allegations against Lulinha

Jurist Pedro Serrano argued during a debate that leaked messages involving Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, do not constitute proof of criminal activity. During a discussion with columnist Josias de Souza, Serrano contested the interpretation of dialogues between Lulinha and businesswoman Roberta Luchsinger.

Serrano maintained that the elements presented publicly, such as meeting schedules and references to money, do not demonstrate the materiality of a crime. He emphasized that for a crime to be established, it must be proven that money was requested with the specific objective of influencing public officials.

Furthermore, Serrano cautioned against relying on selective media leaks, noting that such information often lacks the full context of the investigation and may exclude evidence favorable to the defense. He noted that while the information might justify an investigation, it does not yet constitute proven criminal evidence.
