Jurrien Timber returns to Netherlands squad for Nations League match

Jurrien Timber has been named in the Netherlands matchday squad for their Nations League fixture against Serbia. The Arsenal defender’s inclusion follows a period of careful fitness management after a long-term injury.

To manage his workload, Timber has been following a tailored individual training programme rather than participating in full group sessions. Netherlands head coach Xavi Hernandez has been in direct contact with Arsenal’s medical staff to coordinate this approach. While Timber was previously omitted from initial squad announcements, he is now available as a substitute alongside his brother, Quinten.

Timber’s recent history includes a 25-week injury period that impacted his ability to compete in previous major tournaments. Since returning to action with Arsenal, his playing time has continued to be monitored closely to ensure a safe return to full fitness.
