Jury acquits two men in 2017 shooting case

A jury in Olímpia has acquitted Euripedes Augusto de Melo, known as ‘Euripinho’, and Elton Régis Albertino, known as ‘Nuguete’, of charges related to a 2017 shooting incident known as the ‘tiroteio da Senador’. The trial, which lasted approximately six and a half hours, concluded with the jury accepting the defense's argument of negative authorship.

The case involved a shooting that resulted in the death of Leandro Ribas in 2017. During the proceedings, the prosecutor also requested the acquittal of both defendants, citing a lack of sufficient evidence regarding their participation in the event. This verdict marks the conclusion of the series of trials stemming from this specific criminal process.
